The Last House on the Left is not a film for everyone. Some people will find it offensive and grotesque. These people must be reminded that it is a movie and that it is "fake" and "make believe." This film is a remake from a 70's Wes Craven horror flick. I was not only impressed with the acting and the cinematography, I thought that the movie worked quite well. Although we are desensitized as a culture, this film does take a lot of risks and the risks payed off in the end. The film is a typical "home invader" movie with several twists. The Last House on the Left is a movie that all young girls should watch. It is terrifying as it is suspenseful and wicked. It combines the aspect of being and having a family with that of helplessness and defensiveness. The ability for people to watch this movie with an open mind is key. The movie is not only acceptable, it is risky and in the end, it worked quite well for me. You're emotions will run high when you watch this film. Be careful not to take yourself too seriously when you watch it. I highly recommend this film.

in case you didn't know- Wes Cravens original was once thought to be a real snuff film. They thought the woman was really gutted. I just watched a long preview for the new one (when I went ot see I Love You , Man) and I am excited. They stuck to the most exciting surprises but added more and of course I will not miss the trippy/shatty/drive me out of mind music from the first one.
Yes, the original was good, but the new one was better. I also saw, I Love you, Man. I thought it was very good. It took me a few hours to relalize how much I enjoyed it. It was nice because I think all guys could relate to I Love you, Man. =)
